Make Waves

One of the hottest trends for the holidays will be texture. The full, textured, bouncy hair screams party, party, party! To get the look:
1. Apply Bb. Styling Balm to clean, blow-dried hair.
2. Wrap 1 inch sections of hair around a curling iron. Twist each section as you wrap.
3. After curling, allow strands to fully cool. Then break up curls with your fingers
4. Finish with a strong hold hairspray like Bb. Classic hairspray. Pin It

How to Create a Last-All-Day Braid

Braid. The word is enough to conjure a mental explosion of everything from simple pigtail plaits to runway-chic twists and coils. Today we are going to share tips for keeping your braids bountiful and beautiful.

1. Creating thick and full looking braids on thin or fine hair is tricky, try using Bb. Hair Powder and/or Surf Spray. It will add bulk to the hair, plump it up and give fine hair more grip so it doesn't slip out.
2. If you need more volume or length on your braid try adding extensions.
3. Take your time. Every braid takes time, even messy-looking ones! Hair braided well will look better and last all day, a rushed braid looks rushed and will fall apart quickly (not in a good way!).
4. Finishing with a hairspray is a must! We recommend Bb. Classic Hairspray for its strong hold, plus it will help with flyaways and protect hair from the elements.

semisumo

We can't help but keep blogging about Semisumo. We love it so much and we want you to love it too! Semisumo is a finishing product for use on dry hair and when used alone gives polish and control. Spread through fingers, work through dry hair to tame, define, detail and add shine.
  • Layer it under Hair Powders as a base for the powders to adhere to for a matte affect.
  • Use to calm down a blow dry.
  • Use after hairspray to loosen any 'do or updo.
  • Use on long hair to tame frizz and add polish.
  • Use on short hair for texturizing and detailing.

Kate Beckinsale hair how to

How glam does Kate Beckinsale look with her swept up high ponytail? This would be a great style to do on the day after your wear your hair down and curly.
1. (skip to step #3 if you're starting on second day hair) If you're starting on clean hair, spray your hair all over with Prep, spray Thickening Hairspray on your roots and smooth Grooming Creme through your ends. Blow dry hair upside down until dry.
2. Spray Surf Spray on the ends of your hair and wrap your hair around a curling iron.
3. Back comb the top of your hair and spray with Classic Hairspray.
4. Using your hands smooth your hair into a ponytail on your crown and secure with a hair band. Wrap a piece of hair around the hair band and secure with a bobby pin.
5. Mist hair with Classic hairspray and spray a small mist of Shine Spray on the ponytail. Voila! Pin It

hair how-to: classic bun

When it's too hot outside to even look at a blow drier we love being able to throw our hair up but still look chic and pulled together. We loved this high bun on Cassie Scerbo at the Teen Choice Awards. This style will add a few inches to your frame and will show off your face perfectly.

1} We've said it before but when you are pulling your hair up it's better to do it on dirty hair. It will hold better and last longer. If you're starting on dirty hair skip to step #2. If you're starting on clean hair spray Thickening Hairspray all over then blow dry hair completely.
2} Pull hair into a high ponytail (on your crown) and secure with a hairband. Rat your ponytail then twist the hair around itself to form a bun shape. Secure it with bobby pins.
3} Use your hands to smooth the hair into place and finish with Classic Hairspray. A great option for when you're in a hurry or need a cute looking 'do on the fly!

hair how-to: side chignon

You may have seen this hair how-to floating around the blog-world but I couldn't help but share! This is a simple, elegant side chignon. Very classic and super chic.
1.} Start by spraying hair with Tonic Lotion followed by Thickening Hairspray. Use a round brush to blow dry hair smooth. You could also do this style on second-day (or dare I say) third-day hair.
2.} Once completely dry use a large-barrel (around 1"to 1 1/2") to create waves from ears down.
3.} Tease the hair gently at the crown to create volume and height. Spray with Classic Hairspray.
4.} Gather hair into a low ponytail. Twist it along the nape of your neck, pinning as you go.
5.} Once you've twisted to your ear, shape the remaining hair into curls. Pin them back over the twist.
6.} Finish with Classic Hairspray. Voila! Pin It

hair how-to: SAG awards

To get hair like Lea:
1] On wet hair spray Bb. Prep all over hair followed by Thickening Hairspray on roots and ends for volume. Finish with surf spray on ends for texture.
2] Blow dry hair upside down.
3] Once hair is completely dry spray with Does it All hairspray for light hold and heat protection. Wrap sections of hair around a large (I usually use a 1 inch) curling iron, away from the face.
4] Tossle curls with your hands. Finish with more Does it All hairspray.

for hair like Christina:
1] Spray Prep all over hair, followed by Thickening Hairspray on roots and ends for volume. Smooth a small amount of Grooming Creme through the midshafts and ends for polish.
2] Round brush hair for volume and smoothness.
3] Spray hair with Does it All hairspray for heat protection. With a large curling iron (again I use 1 inch) curl hair away from face, inside the curling iron (for a tighter curl).
4] Tossle curls with hands. Follow with another spray of Does it All.
5] If you like how her bangs swoop up and back follow step #3 of January Jones hair how-to.

To get January's hair:

1] On wet hair spray Prep followed by Styling Creme on roots and ends to create volume and hold. Apply a small amount of Defrizz to keep the hair smooth and to avoid flyaways.
2] Part hair on the side and blow dry using a round brush.
3] To accentuate the wave on the top, use a 1 inch curling iron to curl the hair back into pin curls (curl small sections with curling iron and instead of letting the curl fall down, pin the curl with a bobby pin or clip while it cools).
4] Once the curls have cooled brush through them to create volume and shape.
5] Pin the hair back at the center of the head. Finish with Classic Hairspray.
