Men of Sundance Film Festival

We are so lucky to have the Sundance Film Festival basically in our backyard! There have been many celebrities roaming around and the men have shown great style! There's been some great winter fashion but more importantly, great hair trends.

A lot of men had their hair a little longer and pushed back off their foreheads. The new Bumble and bumble product, Bb. Texture, is going to work amazing for achieving this look!

The "gentleman" look is still hot and on trend. Part your hair and slick it over with some Bb. Gel and voila you've got the look! Adding some stylish frames seals the deal.

Having a bad hair day? Add a beanie, problem solved!

hair how-to: twisty bun

I tried this look yesterday, it was super easy yet looked classy and pulled together.
1] It's better to start with 2nd day hair (aka dirty hair), skip to step #2 if this is you. If not start by spraying prep all over your hair followed by thickening hairspray. Blow dry.
2] Spray spray de mode all over hair for hold. Take the top left section of your hair and leave out, pull the rest of your hair back into a ponytail at the nape of your neck and secure.
3] Back comb your ponytail for texture. Twist into a bun and secure with hair pins.
4] Take the section you left out and cross it over to the right side and wrap around the bun. Secure with hair pins.
5] Pull small pieces of hair out around your face. Finish with spray de mode.

Bb. Tonic Lotion

a MUST before styling
Tonic is unlike anything else, ever. A blend of herbs, vitamins & Tea Tree Oil replaces moisture, soothes, detangles, enhances the performance of products and reminds us of old-school barbers' elixirs. It feeds the scalp and roots. Tea Tree Oil and Peppermint deliver a fantastically soothing coolness.
Great for anyone but especially dry, coarse, porous or colored hair. Use it daily before your other products, you can also use it to reactivate products already in the hair. Pin It

1] Start by spraying Bb. thickening hairspray on wet hair and surf spray from roots to ends. It will give your hair the texture and hold your hair needs for this style.

3] Divide hair down the center of the back of your head. Grab the 2 sections and tie a knot in your hair. Pull tight.

Thickening Hairspray

A lot of you have been thrown off lately because they changed up the name of this product a little. It used to be "thickening spray" now it's Thickening Hairspray. It's still the same product you know and love, they had to change the name for shipping regulations.

Thickening Hairspray helps fine hair achieve styling lift-off, but also works wonders on any hair type - thick, thin, or otherwise. This product has a nice structure and moderate hold. It gives the hair body, heat protection, oomph and fullness .

Favorite Golden Globe Looks

The 2011 Golden Globes did not disappoint with beautiful dresses but more importantly beautiful hair. Here are my top favorites.

We all know Megan Fox is great at pulling of the sexy bombshell but what I'm really loving is her 20's inspired hair.

Lea's loosely pulled-back, curled hair is definitely going to be a big spring trend along with her pretty pink feminine dress.

There were a lot of sequins at the Golden Globes but Anne Hathaway stood out above the rest. I love the dusty rose color and her pretty curls. So glam!

January Jones is Old Hollywood Glamour to me. She always has gorgeous hair with a nod to the 60's but makes it modern with her dress. One of my favorites of the night.

My other favorite of the night was Angelina Jolie. She is also Old Hollywood Glamour to me. She always goes for classic silhouettes with a twist. I really love the contrast of the green dress and her dark hair.
And just because your old doesn't mean you can't be glamorous! Helen Mirren is the perfect example of dressing for your age. Her hair and hair color look great on her and with her skin tone.
Jane Fonda also looks really great. I love short hair on older women.

Katy Perry for OPI

I'm a huge lover of nail polish, it's a great way to update you look for cheap. OPI is teaming up with chart topping megastar Katy Perry to release a new line of polishes inspired by her innovative style. Honestly, this is a no-brainer collaboration I'm surprised they hadn't teamed up sooner! A nail fanatic herself, Katy always uses the red carpet to show off her daring nail designs (customized Russell Brand manicure, anyone?). The collection will include four glamorous shades: Teenage Dream (a dreamy pink glitter), Not Like the Movies (a sultry silver), Last Friday Night (a fierce glittery blue), and The One That Got Away (an amazing deep berry). The one I'm most excited to try in the collection is Black Shatter, a revolutionary topcoat that creates a cracked/leopard pattern when applied over dried nail lacquer. I will definitely be the first in line when the collection finally hits store shelves! Pin It

BLACK Hair Powder

Black hair powder is great for inky brown, Asian, Hispanic, afro and goths.
Bumble and bumble's Hair Powder is so amazing for so many reasons! Read this weeks previous posts to learn why. One of my favorite things about Hair Powder is it's a dry shampoo.
How to absorb oil (dry cleanse): Hold can 10-12 inches from dry hair; spray thoroughly, concentrating on oily areas; let dry; brush out thoroughly and style.
*Important note: Be sure to protect clothing, bath and bed linens during use (spots can be easily removed with a mild soap and water).

BROWN Hair Powder

Brown Hair Powder is great for chocolate, mahogany and chestnut brunette.
Tinted Hair Powder is amazing for so many reasons. It can help extend time between colors, helps cover grays as they grow in and if you are thinning you can spray it on your scalp to make the hair appear thicker.
How to style or tint with Hair Powder: Hair Powder requires a slightly oily surface to adhere to (we recommend a light application of Styling Wax as a base if hair is clean); section dry hair at the scalp; hold can 10-12 inches away from hair and spray thoroughly, being sure to penetrate all layers (if an overall effect is desired); let dry; shake out excess with fingers and style. BLONDISH Hair Powder

Blondish Hair Powder is great for darker blondes and lighter brunettes.
Hair Powder gives you instant fullness, no-slip updos, blended roots and dry cleansing. My favorite, favorite thing about the tinted hair powders are they cover your roots. This means you can go longer between coloring your hair, it blends grays and is quick and easy. It's also great if your hair is thinning; spray it on your scalp and voila it instantly makes your hair look thicker!
Important note: Be sure to protect clothing, bath and bed linens during use (spots can be easily removed with a mild soap and water).

WHITE Hair Powder

White Hair Powder is great for white, silver, platinum, ash and champagne blondes.
Hair Powder is a dry shampoo, but it really is so much more then that. So as a dry shampoo it's great to use on oily (or less than clean) hair. It's also a great tool to use on fine hair to add some depth and volume. Lastly, it's great to use when you want your hair to look more matte instead of shiny. There's a reason Bumble's Hair Powder is one of our best sellers! Pin It

SUPERNATURAL (HAIR) POWDERS

It's Bumble and Bumble Hair Powder Week! This magic, multi-purpose product boosts volume, blends roots, gives grip and dry cleanses (instantly). Basically, it's a bottle full of tricks. Hair powder comes in WHITE, BLONDISH, BROWN and BLACK. Each day I'll feature a different color and the benefits of each. But first a little Hair Powder history...
Bumble and bumble created these aerosol styling powders in five shades. They add sexy va-va volume, extend the life of a blow-dry by absorbing excess oil and provide a dry texture that keeps pins and clips from slipping (so styles stay put). The shades enhance or shift hair color - these fantastic (and fun) forms of temporary color can be used to blend away roots between color appointments (Hallelujah!).

Where do you think the name "Powder Room" came from?! (no joke)

hair how to: uptown girl

A clever and that much more formal manipulation of BHLDN's Sainted Sister Blusher Veil becomes the signature of this look. It’s super simple but packs all the punch of a well-groomed society gal.
1. Comb the hair straight back into a low ponytail. Secure with a hair band.
2. Tease the pony, mist with Spray de Mode and twist it tightly into a chignon. Spray again with Spray de Mode.
3. Here’s where the veil comes in: to complete the look, fasten the comb above the chignon, fold a layer of tulle down and over it, and then pin the tulle into place. Pin It
