The Perfect Blow Dry
How to get The Perfect Blow Dry:
1. Make sure you start with a great shampoo (ask your Salon K stylist which Bumble and bumble shampoo is the best for your hair type)- it's important to start with very clean hair. Oily or dirty hair will not blow out nearly as nice or last as long as freshly washed, clean hair. Also, start with towel dried hair (dripping wet hair makes it SO MUCH HARDER!). Spray hair with Bb. Prep and comb through hair to take out any knots.
2. Styling products are a must! Good, quality, products (like Bumble and bumble) make a world of a difference.
3. Use clips to divide the top area of your hair into 3 one-inch sections to your crown,. Then clip your hair on either side of your temples and section out the back. The more sections you have the easier it is and the more control you will have.
4. Dry your bangs first, it will go a long way to perfecting your blowout. Use a medium-sized round brush (we love the wooden handle, boar bristle Spornette ones), roll your hair up to the ends, then down to the root.
5. Repeat this motion until your hair is completely dry. Leaving any moisture in your hair will cause frizz. For added volume you can leave the round brushes in your hair or use large Velcro rollers, and let the hair cool completely before removing. Repeat this process throughout your head.
6. After all your sections are good and dry, use your fingers and dryer to gently remove any lines of demarcation that may have occurred.
7. Our favorite blow dryer brand is Babyliss. A great blow out can last for days, and make sure you allow yourself at least a good 30-35 minutes to achieve a great blow out at home. It may seem like a long time but it will last much longer than if you rush it and it will look better! Extend your blowout even longer with Bb. Hair Powder (it will get rid of your natural oils). Windswept Softness
Last but definitely not least is this really soft, windswept hair.
1. Mist Surf Spray on dry hair, roots to ends.
2. Smooth a dime size (more for longer hair) of Color Minded Styling Balm throughout the hair with
hands, working through all layers of hair for full coverage.
3. Air dry for a windswept look with natural sheen, or blow dry with a flat brush for extra shine.
Bb.Stylist tip: This is the combo you want to use before heading to the beach or outdoors. Surf Spray for
a tousled texture and Styling Balm for moisture, control and UV protection. Pin It

Beachy Volume
We love the idea of doing this for a summer night out, gorgeous yet effortless.
1. Mist Thickening Hairspray on damp hair, roots to ends.
2. Layer Surf Spray roots to ends.
3. Heat style as you would normally – blow dry, hand dry, hot roll, diffuse – building volume, waves and
curls to your liking.
Bb.Stylist tip: You can add more Surf Spray the next day to make this look last. Spray it in your hands, rub
your palms together and rake your fingers through waves for a messier, broken down finish

Sexy Definition
We've said it before and we'll say it again, we are obsessed with Surf Spray this summer! Bumble and bumble came out with an amazing collection of hairstyles inspired by Surf Spray and we are so excited to share them with you (we used these images as our inspiration in our class last week)! If you want sexy definition like Veronika follow these easy steps:
1. Mist Surf Spray on damp hair, focusing on roots.
2. Layer Grooming Creme roots to ends.
3. Air-dry for natural definition (stand in the wind) or diffuse for a sexy, beachy texture
Bb.Stylist tip: Once hair is dry, add some more Grooming Creme for moister, more flexible texture – it
feels like salt water with a little suntan lotion.

Snow White and the Huntsman
We were already excited to see Snow White and the Huntsman this last weekend but were instantly wowed by all the amazing hair! Braids, braids and more braids! Right on trend right now and perfect for the summer. Charlize's milkmaid braids were anything but, they became sultry and chic.
Kristen Stewart's braid at the end of the movie was AH-MAZING! It showed off her features and instantly transformed her into a powerful heroine.
Annnnd it would be a sin to not mention Chris Hemsworth and his gorgeous self along with his lovely long locks (are we sensing a long hair trend in tinseltown?!).

Balayage Class
Last night we had a Balayage color class. Balayage is a hair color technique that creates natural looking highlights (think Gisele Bundchen). We practiced freehand highlights that produced the perfect sunkissed highlights.
