hair how-to: vintage hair

We just discovered Lauren Conrad's new beauty website the beautydepartment.com. It's full of tutorials, videos and our favorite, how to copy Lauren's looks! She recently posted a photo tutorial of how to get her 1940's waves and it was too good to not share!
1} Part your hair on the side. Either side will do.
2} Using a 1 inch barrell curling iron (we like hot tools) curl all your hair inward toward your face.
3} Clip the curls in place with large setting clips.
4} Lightly mist Spray de Mode hairspray all over hair. Let your hair cool and set (about 15 minutes).
5} Gently pull the clips out and let your hair fall.
6} Using Bumble and bumble's flat brush, lightly brush hair back and away from your face and then let it spring back. The wave pattern will automatically start to appear. Keep brushing gently until it shows up. We like to help it along by molding the waves where you want them by hand.
7} Finish by spraying Spray de Mode all over finished hair. Gorgeous!
