Mara Braid Tutorial

A few weeks ago we did a photo shoot with a local swimsuit company that requested lots of different braids. As we were searching for inspiration we came across the picture above, a runway photo from the Mara Hoffman show, and we instantly fell in love! Now on the what you care about, the tutorial!











We love this braid for its versatility! This braid works great on second day hair but if you need to add texture spray hair with Bumble and bumble Surf Spray for grip and texture.
1. Leave a side section of hair out and braid or fishtail hair part way {you can change up how much hair you braid according to your liking, as shown in the pictures above}. Secure with a small hair tie.
2. Wrap loose section of hair up and around the top of the braid. Secure with bobby pins.
3. Finish the braid/fishtail and secure with a small hair tie. Deconstruct the braid by pulling it apart to give it a wider, messier plait. The messier the better!
4. Finish with Bb. Spray de Mode Hairspray for a light hold.

After your Salon K stylist has washed your hair they always spray a Bb. Primer all over your hair first thing. Why? Like a makeup primer, our Bb. Day To Night Pony Tutorial

An updated classic that looks cool under the sun!
1. Generously apply Bb. Pret a Powder to dirty hair. Rake through gently, pull and tug to create sexy, undone texture.
2. Gather hair into a ponytail, preserving volume at the crown. Wrap a ribbon of hair around the base of the ponytail and secure with a elastic.
3. add a drop of Bb. Brilliantine to ends for a bit of sheen.
* optional: finish with a band for a more polished presentation.

Pin Straight Blow Dry Tutorial

A one-two punch of Bumble and bumble products helps this sleek style stand up to the heat and humidity!
1. On damp hair spray Bb. Prep all over then Bb. Thickening Hairspray concentrating on the roots.
2. Rake a dime sized amount of Bb. Straight through hair from roots to ends (apply mostly on mids to ends if hair is fine or soft).
3. Separate hair into sections and blow dry each section if hair with a flat brush for a smooth finish.

On the Go Topknot Tutorial

The perfect second day Updo to keep you (looking) cool as the temperatures rise.
1. Gather unwashed hair into a high ponytail. Secure with a hair tie.
2. Braid the ponytail and secure with another hair tie.
3. Coil topknot into place, secure with a few bobbies.
4. Rough hairline up a little with fingers and finish with a generous misting of Bb. Spray de Mode hairspray.

Slick it Back Tutorial

A heatwave-proof pony for these dog days of summer!
1. Tightly brush ponytail into place and secure with a hair tie.
2. Take a small ribbon of hair and spritz heavily with Bb. Does it All Hairspray, then wrap around the base of the pony. Secure with a bobby.
3. Spray the tops and side of hair with Does it All Hairspray for added hold.

Surf Grunge Tutorial

1. On damp hair spritz Bumble and bumble Surf Spray throughout hair, then work a small amount of Bb. texture into hair.
2. Rough dry hair with a blow drier, tossing and tousling.
3. Once dry apply Bb. Pret a Powder at the roots.
4. Spray Bb. Thickening Dryspun Finish and Cityswept Finish through ends and twist with fingers for gritty texture and volume.

Summer time and the weather is fine! But how's your hair? Our poor hair tends to get sent through the ringer during these summer months but we have a great tip from Bumble and bumble.Bbefore swimming get hair wet in the shower and and apply Super Rich Conditioner as a leave-in, and gather your hair into a bun. After your swim, rinse hair thoroughly, followed by Gentle Shampoo (and then recondition with Super Rich). This keeps highlights looking fresh and protects from the green tone that chlorine can deposit in the hair.
